INTERNATIONAL WORK

It is the mission of Morning Star Fishermen to teach people how to provide for themselves in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner. Rather than rely on handouts, which feed for a day and encourage dependence upon the donor, people need to learn how to provide for themselves and their loved ones in a sustainable and inexpensive way, adding dignity and independence to their lives.
We are committed to providing training to agriculture producers on alternative and innovative food production techniques, which are environmentally friendly and highly efficient.

Kpalime - Togo (West Africa)
Morning Star Fishermen (MSF) was contacted by Paul Puleo, the founder of Construction for Worldwide Evangelism (CWE). They have an interest in developing sustainable food producing systems around the world. After a visit to MSF’s training facility in Dade City, meetings took place to determine if a partnership between MSF and CWE could occur. The result was a unanimous decision by the boards of both organizations to begin the collaborative project. A little over a year later, a new aquaponic training center was born.
This system in Kpalime has become our West African Training Center, with students from other African countries already attending classes. Production at this facility is very important to us. All of our partners have been incredible. We could not have accomplished this work without the focused and diligent efforts of our partners CWE, ABWE, and, of course, your faithful support of Morning Star Fishermen.

Bodje - Togo (West Africa)
The village of Bodje has a population of less than 1,000 souls, is located in a remote area, and has no running water or electricity. Yet we designed a system that will produce about 4 tons of fish and 8 tons of produce per year running completely on solar power. It is being farmed by local Togolese farmers who were trained at our West Africa Training Center. This system became financially sustainable during the first year of operation. (Note: the photo on the right is one day's harvest)
This project is another Morningstar Fishermen, CWE, and ABWE collaboration.

Bangula - Malawi (Southern Africa)
In 2009, Morning Star Fishermen teamed up with Iris Ministries in order to build an aquaponic facility in Bangula, Malawi. Training for this project was led by our own MSF team, and we are proud that the base in Bangula is successfully growing Tilapia and produce for the community. Thank you Dave, Peter, Andrew, and the team for your commitment to making a difference!
Zambia - Southern Africa
MSF Alumni Pat and Jean have done a great job with this system. We are glad to be a part of this great work!
Jinotepe - Nicaragua (Central America)
This aquaponic project was a collaboration between Rotary International, Una University, and Morning Star Fishermen.
Santa Rosa - Honduras (Central America)
This is a really interesting aquaculture project. We have water free flowing out of the ground at a rate of 4,000 gph so this 30,000 gal aquaculture system flows without the use of electricity. Thank you Jerry, Ronnie, Jon and the team for all of your work.
San Pedro Sula - Honduras (Central America)
This aquaponic project is another collaboration with Glodev. Tim and our team did great work! We love the bamboo shade structure.
Casa Angelina - Guatemala (Central America)
This aquaponic project was built by What Matters Ministries and Missions. Keep up the good work MSF Alumni Andrew and Caden.
Fond Parisian - Haiti (Caribbean)
This aquaculture training center was a collaboration between Love a Child, Christian Television Network (CTN), and Morning Star Fishermen. We believe that it is imperative the the Haitian people return to sustainable forms of food production and reduce the need for handouts.
Hogar de Ninas - Dominican Republic (Caribbean)
This was a fun aquaponic project! Thank you Hank and the Castelbury Rotary Club for sponsoring this project. A special thanks to Sisters Margarita and Yluminada. We learned a lot from your discipline and continued expressions of Gods love. We are pleased that your little girls will eat better.
